Marin County Originals, Ready Now
Finished Pieces with No Wait
Every piece in the current furniture inventory was designed and built by Curtis at the San Rafael workshop. These are not production runs or catalog reproductions. Each one reflects a specific creative vision, from the distinctive grain and character of the exceptional hardwoods to the placement and color of the epoxy resin. Because no two pieces of wood are alike, none of these pieces can be replicated once they find a home. What you see is genuinely what exists.

What to Expect from Available Custom Furniture
The Same Craft, Without the Commission Timeline
Custom commissions at Spencer Mason Designs typically take anywhere from one month to ten weeks, depending on the scope of the project. Available furniture pieces skip that timeline entirely. The slab has already been selected, the epoxy work is complete, and the base, whether a locally fabricated custom metal design or a pre-made option, is already in place. You are acquiring a fully realized work of functional art, not a work in progress. Dimensions and specifications are predetermined, so what you see on inquiry is exactly what you receive.

One-of-a-Kind by Nature
Why In-Stock Furniture Designs Sell Quickly
The available custom furniture at Spencer Mason Designs moves at its own pace, and once a piece is gone, it is gone. Exceptional hardwoods are selected for their dramatic, organic grain, and no two slabs share the same pattern. Epoxy treatments, including ocean-inspired color work, add further depth and individuality. The result is a furniture inventory where every item is genuinely singular. Clients who find a piece that fits their space and aesthetic rarely wait, because there is no guarantee a comparable piece will be made again.
What You Should Know Before You Inquire
What You Should Know Before You Inquire
How do I find out which furniture pieces are currently in stock?
The available furniture inventory at Spencer Mason Designs changes over time, since each piece is a one-of-a-kind original that cannot be reproduced once it sells. The best way to see what is currently on hand is to reach out directly through the contact form. Curtis can share photos, dimensions, and details about any pieces currently available. Because the inventory is not a fixed catalog, an inquiry gives you the most accurate and up-to-date picture of what is ready to take home. Are available pieces built to the same standard as a fully custom commission?
Yes. Every piece in the available furniture selection is built to the same standard as a custom commission. Curtis uses the same highly figured walnut slabs, the same epoxy resin techniques, and the same attention to edge profiles and base construction that go into every bespoke order. The difference is that the design decisions have already been made by Curtis rather than through a collaborative client process. The craftsmanship, materials, and finish are identical to what a custom client would receive. Can I visit the San Rafael workshop to see available pieces in person?
Yes. The San Rafael workshop is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, and visits are handled by appointment. Seeing a piece in person is a very different experience from viewing photos, since the natural character of the walnut grain and the depth of the epoxy work are best appreciated up close. An in-person visit allows you to assess the scale, finish, and overall presence of the furniture before making a decision. What types of furniture are typically part of the ready-made selection?
The available furniture at Spencer Mason Designs can include dining tables, coffee tables, console and entryway tables, desks, and benches, though the specific pieces on hand vary over time. Coffee tables are a common format for expressive epoxy work, including ocean-inspired designs, while dining tables tend to be the most sought-after statement pieces. Smaller items such as charcuterie boards may also be available. Because each piece is original, the current inventory reflects whatever Curtis has created most recently. How does delivery work for ready-made furniture pieces?
Spencer Mason Designs offers two options. White-glove delivery includes full assembly at your location and is priced based on the destination, covering Marin County, San Francisco, the East Bay, Napa, and Sonoma. Alternatively, clients can arrange direct pickup from the San Rafael workshop during business hours, by appointment. Delivery pricing varies depending on where the piece is going and is confirmed at the time of inquiry. Is it possible to request changes to a ready-made piece before purchasing?
Available furniture pieces are sold as completed originals with predetermined dimensions, base styles, and finishes. They are not open to modification the way a custom commission would be. If you have specific requirements around size, edge profile, epoxy color, or base design, a custom commission is the more appropriate path. If an available piece is close to what you need, Curtis is happy to discuss the details during an inquiry so you can make an informed decision about whether it suits your space.
